We finally got our first drop in temperature this past week but the fishing still remains strong. I was out several times last week and we caught plenty of fish each day. Most of my trips are spent fishing in the numerous finger channels that run through the flats of Biscayne Bay. They are anywhere from 8 to 20ft deep and each one has its own little differences which makes certain fish prefer one over the other. Just like last week the hot bite is still coming from the Porgys. We are having no problem catching our limit every time out and we caught some big ones as well. We are catching plenty of mutton snapper but they have all been under sized fish that we have to release. We also have caught a few sharks that have gotten off right by the boat after putting up a great fight. Mangrove snapper and some barracudas round out the rest of what we have been catching lately.
